A “private cloud” is a dedicated, often self-hosted cloud infrastructure running something like OpenStack or Eucalyptus that sits inside your company's data centers and behind your company’s firewall. Another variation of a private cloud is one that is managed, but allocated dedicated compute resources so nothing is shared with other customers.
