Any Snyk users here? I found a tool that is 100x better in terms of UX and....pretty much everything is you're looking for an alternative.

Or those websites that look like they were built in 1994 that my mom keeps thinking are providing legitimate health products/advice. ๐

Would this be the right place to ask questions about the docker-bastion app on your github?

It seems it wants to create some webhook to slack, I don't understand the purpose, seems like a security risk, besides the link to the guide is dead (Create a slack webhook. Follow this simple guide.)
It also seems to want to get my authorized_keys from github. I'm not saying github is not safe, but I feel it's an unnecessary step, both in terms ofmaking things more complicated than necessary, and a potential security risk.
Any way to get around those two?
It looks like a cool container, and I like how it has 2FA built in, but perhaps it's not designed for a simple home setup with a single user?

trying to understand !store. I see how to call values from different components using !store. However, I am confused on values get loaded into your store in the first place. I have looked though the documentation and nothing really explains that part. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone ๐
Iโve been thinking of giving my old Dell Vostro series laptop a second life by configuring it as a homelab. Instead of letting it gather dust, I want to use it to learn DevOps hands-on and avoid unnecessary cloud bills.
Hereโs what I want to achieve:
1๏ธโฃ Run Kubernetes locally โ spin up nodes, run containers, add GitOps with Flux or ArgoCD, and set up proper monitoring, observability & security.
2๏ธโฃ Self-hosting projects โ experiment with services, automation, and infrastructure right from home.
๐ก My goal: to build real-world experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD, self-hosting, monitoring tools, and infrastructure automationโall without the cloud costs.
๐๏ธ Now I need your valuable suggestions/feedback/inputs/advice on how to get started:
Which OS/distribution should I use?
Should I go with bare-metal installs, VMs, or Dockerized environments?
How do I optimize an older laptop for stability & performance?
Must-have tools, tips, or โwatch-outsโ you wish you knew when you started?
Iโd love to hear from those of you who have already built your own homelabs. Your insights could help me (and many others here) get up and running faster!
๐๏ธ Also feel free to tag any resources you have in mind.
