finally they did it to DynamoDB (was a pain to provision/plan capacity)

Only ever used for TF locking stuff but yeah, using another app to do some DynamoDB scaling based on usage was less than ideal

It’s not only that. The biggest issue was data skews. Hot primary keys. So you always ended up overprovisioning and overpaying
