“Kubernetes and Cloud Native on Windows”

Cloud native is not just for Linux anymore. Windows Server 2016 brings native support for Windows Server Containers. This will make Windows a viable option for hosting your cloud application infrastructure. Michael joins us to talk about his early work with Windows Server Containers and his use of the highly popular Kubernetes project for scheduling them.

Michael Michael is Apprenda's Senior Director of Product Management. He is an experienced, detail-oriented software engineer with problem-solving and program-management skills. Many Apprenda employees believe he could one day play ping-pong professionally. Follow him on Twitter at @MichMike77.

Speaker #3: Vic Iglesias, Google

“Monitoring Applications from the Inside with Kubernetes and Prometheus”

In this talk, we will look at the flexibility and ease of use of Kubernetes application and infrastructure monitoring provided by Prometheus. Application developers are often the most aware of the best way to detect anomalies and issues in their applications. We will leverage that expertise to make operations and monitoring more accurate and actionable.

Vic Iglesias is a Cloud Solutions Architect at Google with years of experience in both on-premise and in-cloud workload deployment, orchestration, and management. With a background in quality, his focus is on creating the best experience for developers looking to leverage the scale and flexibility of cloud computing to deliver the best software possible.
